The J’s in our brand name come from our own names - Jess & Jessica. The acres comes from our dearly treasured 1.8 acres (barely this side of plural) we purchased in January 2017, along with our fixer-upper 3 bed 2 bath home.
We cheated a bit for this picture, we “snuck” about 20 feet East onto our neighbor’s property to take our 2018 family photos. I guess this means we’ll have to try to take more photos of the both of us on our own property!
Neither of us grew up homesteading.
None of our family or friends practiced food preservation, raised animals, or kept a garden that provided more than a few raspberries and some seasonal salad greens. Even so, we’ve both had this crazy dream about having the space to get in the dirt and create since we first started dating in college. Now we are making this crazy dream a reality one messy project at a time. J & J Acres is a young Pacific Northwest Homestead in the making - before all the wisdom of experience and surmounted learning curves.
